Default New hinges

I haven't had much "shop time" of late. Been extremely busy with work and also been fighting a respiratory infection. This past weekend I took a little bit of time and made some new wooden hinges.

Ken

I have to find a project to put a set of wooden hinges on. I had never seen them before, they are neat.

In fact even if I never use them, I want to make a set.

A real cool job!

Hi John,

Thanks, for more info on wooden hinges, please check out Bj's and my threads on wooden hinges. I'll post a quick link to both threads. I do recommend to anyone who wants to try these, they are worth the effort. Most importantly, they are fun to make.

If you can turn out such a lovely job when you're not feeling the best Ken, I'm looking forward to your next one when you're fighting fit.
As an aside, I think you forgot to downsize the photos!

Hi Ken

Nice job on the pair of hinges

I now see what you said in the PM,,here's a quick jig you can make to let the hinge close all the way,,, you may want to make it a bit over size (pocket hole) so you can use it for any of the hinges you make...for a quick touch up.
you will need a small press fit bar to protect the knuckle of the hinge ..but other than that it's easy jig to make...I use the Ski jig but it can be screwed to some scrap plywood...

Hi Harry,

Thanks. Yea, it has been awhile since I last posted any pics, almost forgot how too. After getting them downloaded, realized they were a tad bit on the large size.

Hi Bj,

I was hoping you'd catch that "error" I had mentioned. For what this pair is going to be attached to, it really won't matter. It's something I want/NEED to correct for future attempts.

Hi John,

You're very welcome. I think you'll find that once you try a hinge... you'll be making many more.

Hi Dr Z

Thanks. I'm slowly getting better. Dr's and their meds.... now ya know why I haven't spent much time in the "shop".
