| Registered User New Member | Greetings, My second question. Is the above router table recommended? I am new to woodworking and routing. I also believe in the KISS principle (Keep It Simple Stupid). Some of the other router tables I have seen appear too advanced/complicated. Any and all input is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Gunter |

| Marine Engineer Forum King | Gunter, My current table uses the Oak-Park top. It is well made and has given me no problems. For some jobs I do wish it was a tiny bit deeper. I've compensated for that with my current setup. If you're new to woodworking, it's a great table to start with. If you find that there are things about the table you don't like, you can incorporate changes into your next design. Hope this helps,

| Forum Contributer Supreme Forum King | Hi Gunter I will agree with Doug.. " it's a great table to start with " But do think down the road just a bit...the router table can do many, many jobs...very well but you need the extra items to do that...and do it safe.. Bob and Rick R. are Pros. and if you watch the RWS show you will see the disclaimer that all guards have been remove to show you how to do the job.. The router is a fun tool but it's also a tool that can remove body parts fast. ![]() Think safety 1st.,ear plugs, dust mask, safety glasses, bit guards, tall fence, feather boards, holding jigs,vac.pickup,etc. ======= =========== Quote:
