| Registered User Jr. Member | i have roybi router that i like a lot. i have a few bit but not a lot since i dont have any money. i was wondering how i could build a router table. i want one pretty badly ive seen them and there like $60.00 and for someone who is 14 years old and doesnt have any income cant buy lots of tools i have to save for mine or buy at garge sales but i want to build one if its cheaper than buying one. are the tables work better if there built or bought? |

| Forum Moderator Supreme Forum King | As long as you can make a good top for the router to set in. You could make it from plywood or mdf for the top or something better. Make the frame from 2x4. Check around maybe you could buy half a sheet I wouldn't go no less then 3/4" for the table and maybe brace the middle a little to prevent sagging.

| Registered User Forum Geek | Near my home is a business called Re-Store which benefits Habitat For Humanity. They sell used and contractor left over building materials. Theirs probably a similar business near you. Usually there are several bathroom vanity's that would make a good base for a router table. Then find a cabinet shop that will give you a blemished piece of counter top or a sink cut out for the top. You could end up with a router table for next to nothing and would be a lot more versatile than most $60 tables. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=94331
