Default Kreg router table problem

ok so I got a nice bonus from work last month and decided to treat myself to one of those kreg router tables with the self centering fence. I got it and got it put together and my router mounted. The problem is that as soon as I start the router the vibrations from my router loosen the leveling screws and make the plate and my router start to sink. I tried snugging them up but it didn't seem to help. Do I want to put some nuts on these screws or locktight them? Any other ideas?

You did not fill out your profile to tell us what country you live in. A Google search turned up no information on Kent router tables. I guess the ball is in your court. Let us know where you live, and if possible provide a photo of the table and router. We will be glad to help you with this problem but we are not omniscient.

Thats better! The Kreg table's are very nice and a good deal for the money. Depending on how loose the screws are there are a couple of easy solutions. There is a product called Vibra-Tite for locking the threads in place. It is unique in that you will be able to loosen the screws, make an adjustment and in 24 hours it locks the thread in place again. This product is the best on the market and sells for around $20 for a small bottle. There are other thread locking products for less money but none work like Vibra-Tite and re-lock. Be careful if you purchase another brand to not buy the permanent locking type. At some point you will need to readjust those screws. This is how I installed the leveling screws on my mounting plate.

Hi nurumkin

The easy fix and cheap fix, deform the threads on the leveling screws.

This can be done with a small hammer or in the steel vise,,, deform the threads just after the first 3 starting threads,,,,the hammer works the best with a flat bottom punch, it's the same thing they do to make some lock nuts...no need to put out any money for locking fluid...I do use thick super glue sometimes and it works very well one drop is all it takes..once you have it set right you will not need to move it up or down...
