I have a router with the various bits and I was wondering, Are all routers equipped to be fastened to a table?

From what I have seen on the forum, most modern routers can be table mounted.

It might help in the discussion if you could advise the make and model that you have. (also what you intend to do on the table...)

Hello James The router is a Homebase own and its called the Powerbase Excel 1500w. I just want to make small boxes the type to use as jewellry boxes with the small finger joints. I have a disc with the kit that has inserts in it and was wondering if this is part of the fixing plate. There is instructions with the router but none on fixing it to a table.

Most routers can be table mounted with ease. Remove the plastic sub base plate from your router and use it to lay out the location for the center and mounting screw holes. For best results use a plywood table top that is 3/4' thick with plastic laminate on top and bottom.

Hi Allejo,
Check out www.axminster.co.uk, they will have the mounting plates that you need. As with a lot of them you may have to re drill to align the mounting bolts, but as Mike has said remove the plastic sub base.
