| Registered User New Member | I have a rockler router table with a porter cable 8529 router. I ordered a CMT glass panel door set (28595) from rockler and a rail coping jig. With my router fully raised the coping jig makes the rail 1/4'' to high. Would it be safe to raise my router bit 1/4 '', this leaves a 1 1/4 of the bit in the router. Thanks for any help. |

A rule I use for my Makita's, since technically, there's no bottoming of the bit shank, I make sure atleast 3/4 of the shank length is in the collet. Any less, IMHO, you take a chance at having something bad happen.
