I will be making a router table in a few weeks. I'll buy either an aluminum or phenolic plate. I know the answer to this is somewhere in the back of my mind but I can't remember............how do you determine the radius of the plate? TIA

Donald, the short and sweet way to mount your router is a Rousseau mounting plate. You can purchase a centering kit for like $3, and a template kit that includes a special guide bushing for getting a perfect fit every time. Don't take my word for it on this plate. Norm used this plate for 10 years on the NYW. When Rockler started sponsoring the show he "upgraded" with Rockler supplied goodies. I have installed 4 of these plates so far with more to come when the weather warms up.

Thanks Mike I'll check them out. I got a CD with my Porter Cable router and finally watched in yesterday. It showed the router guys making a router table and while making the cut out for the plate he said the plate had a 1/2" radius so he would need a 1" bit for the routing. I knew there was at least one co. that offered a temp;ate for their plates. Thanks again
