Bora Clamp edge

As many know, I haven't been on much. When I am, try to help the best I can. I am slowly making a "return" to the forums. I wanted to share my review of the Bora Clamp Edge: http://www.mcfeelys.com/product/BORA...lamp-Edgetrade

In theory, this is a great tool. However, it's poorly designed. Very difficult to make any adjustments. Very easy to "ding" the sides, taking it out of trueness. It does let you clamp at a 22 1/2* left or right. I've had this tool for awhile now. (Atleast a few months). Today was the first time I've really attempted to use it. I must say that, given my temper... I'm afraid it's liable to be flying out my shop door with a "no return" pasted to it. I won't recommend it, for, I'm sure there is something better out there.

Thanks for the review Ken. This is good info for those considering it. Although bad for the one who bought it, it's a way of helping others.

I know that this in not comparable to a straight edge made for woodworking, but I have been using an aluminum straight edge for years, that I got from a local commercial window and door company.

It was a bottom track for a large commercial store front window that was removed, and nothing was wrong with the track. It was 22 feet long, and I cut it down to 3 differents lengths.

It takes another minute or two to set and clamp it than it would a straight edeg system designed for woodworking, but the price was right . . . $15!

In all fairness, the guy gave me a big time break because we had got into a discussion about why I wanted it, and I told him. he turned out to be a woodworker and couldn't believe he had never thought to use one of his aluminum tracks as a straight edge for his hobby lol!

Anyway I have no compalints about my straight edeg system. Has worked great for years. And the price was unbeatable.
