Thumbs up Bosch 1617vs Verses 690 Porter cable

Well guys I'm definetly sold with the Bosch router. I bought one from ebay for a really good price. It is a Bosch 1617vs with a fixed base. Got it to decate it to my bigger router table. And I must have to admit that after being a porter cable person for the past 4 years that the bosch has it beat. I know there is a horse power difference but from aside from this the Bosch with the soft start and seemed like I turned on a hybrid tablesaw the noise from this router was a whole lot less then the Porter cable 690 it didnt bog down as much as Porter cable router. I like the wrench system better and the height adjustment to be a whole lot easier then the porter cable. I do have both models in the table. The bigger table uses the bosch and the Pc is used in my smaller table. So after using it today I'm sold onto it. So that brings my count of routers to 3 plunge routers and 3 fixed base. Boy come to think of it I feel like a golfer now do I use the three iron or the wood .

Hi Glenmore

Not ever owning either I can't compare, but I will say this you have quite a collection of routers. I have two, and one is cheap and gutless.

I hope you enjoy your new toy

John

Hi Guys

I don't have a Bosch 1617vs but I do have many PC routers and do like them a lot but for the last year or so I have been going over to the Craftsman routers, the new one I got is just like a Bosch and I got it at less than 1/2 the price of the Bosch...

The Craftsman comes with ever thing you need in one kit plus you can adjust the router from the top of the router table... it's a real hard one to beat....

I couldn't beat the price. With shipping and handling I got the router for 81.00 and 20.00 S/H so I had to buy it . The only reason I did is because it has more horsepower then the others. And man I glad I did. Bj I bought it from the ebay auction. They do have the ebay stores but they are a lot more.

Bj I went through the auction and bidded on this one it was the only one this person had. So you have to go down the list of routers to see if you can find the deal and bid on it. Sorry don't have a link from the person that sold it to me.

OK Glen

Do you have the user name ( eBay user Name ) I can find him that way or your user name then I can find the item..
Or just the eBay number will do it also..
If you paid for it with PayPal they will also have that info on hand.
Plus your Feed back on eBay will show the item and number..if you paid for it by check/COD ...
Many,Many ways to track items on eBay

Thanks
BJ
