| Registered User Supreme Forum King | I am trying to find the easiest way to reinforce the joints of hexagonal and octagonal keepsake boxes. I don't have a biscuit joiner, and was considering using dowels. But I can't figure out how to drill the holes to do this (angles, etc.). I usually use splines on my boxes, but wanted to get away from this on these. Each side would only be 3 to 4 inches wide. Can y'all help? Kevin |

| Registered User Jr. Member | Have you tried the new "birds mouth" router bits? You can buy them for any number of sided boxes,(as number of sides determines the new angle). http://www.pricecutter.com/html/cata...oup.asp/334481 I am also into box making and I have a bisquit cutter that cuts very small bisquits. Some,no longer than a 1/4". Maybe this could also be an alternative. Last edited by sailer; 05-07-2005 at 10:16 PM. |
