| Registered User New Member | How can I best reduce the thickness of butcher block by working through a 1 inch diameter hole from the top? I'm mounting faucets and the butcher block counter is too thick. Can't get to hole from bottom. Tom Astley |

| Forum Moderator Supreme Forum King | Hi Tom welcome to the forum. You could counter sink from underneath using a bigger bit to get the nuts onto the faucets or some how extend the mountings of the faucet.

| Registered User Forum Geek | I agree with Glenmore. Either a Forstner drill bit or a spiral router bit using a jig and a Guide Bushing. I'll bet Bob even has a jig for just that- he has a jig for everything (just kidding). -Derek Last edited by fibertech; 10-23-2005 at 07:33 AM. |

| Registered User New Member | Since I can't work on the underside of the butcher block but can load a bit from below, I think reikimaster's suggestion to use an "undercut" bit is a good solution. I'll give it a try. Thanks for all the help! Tom |
