Hi Wayne

I would give the Colt 9 stars out of 10 stars,,it's capabilities, many, many I have one mounted in a router table for the small router jobs, quick round over, etc.plus dovetails jobs with the incra jig ultra light on the small router table, plus two base plates for the trim work that it can do all day long..

Bob3 and others convinced me to buy a Colt and it is one of the handiest tools I've ever used. I sometimes push its limits I fear but it takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Oh. Wait a minute. That is the slogan for another product.
buy the Colt. You will not regret it.

Well, You have me sold. I have been advised on another thread against using it as a cutting tool to use on internal cuts for patterns. I use 1/2" -3/4" softwood stock primarily. The argument against using it as a cutting tool is the heating and breakage of the bits. Have any of you used the Colt for this purpose? If so, please tell me the results of your experience.

Thanks. I was hoping it would be tough enough for a router table. It seems reasonably priced for the capabilities and power.

As I understand your proposed use I cannot believe it would not do the job, especially given the stock you plan to use. If someone is breaking bits doing that sort of cutting with a Colt there are 3 quick reasons I can think of why it's happening: pushing the unit too hard; bargain basement cheap bits; trying too make too deep a cut in hardwood.
Be not afraid. Go forth with your Colt and do good work.

Thanks, Sourdough. I'm going out and buying the Colt. Do you have any suggestions for cutting bits and sources? I have never used a 1/4" bit. I have an assortment of Whiteside bits for my big Porter -Cable. They are durable and accurate.
