Hot day yesterday. OK..I need to find a way to get some air in there..Open door aint gonna cut it. Hmmm AC from the house? It is attached and we have a vent on the back wall of a small bathroom that is the back wall of the garage too. Rob from the bathroom? Might just get a fan

Built a huge bench yesterday. Bench/outfeed table. Also..I stand corrected. 2 car garage. My eyes were bigger than my tape measure. Still, Plenty of room.........................So far

Hi Joe

I have a 4' x 8' work bench and it's to small ,you can't have one too big, the 1st time you make a cabinet you will be glad you made a big one.
It's not much fun to get on your knees and work on a cabinets or any projects.

The one I have is made with 2' x 4" and 3ea. 3/4" x 4' x 8' MDF stock for the top and a 1/4" thick glass top on 1/2 of it, so I can wipe the glue up easy and have a nice FLAT top. ( "start sq. and it will come out sq.")

I did have it one wheels at one time but they could not take the load so now I use two floor jacks to move it about the shop..

I use a fan I got from HP to keep the shop cool, it's one that is about 3' in dia. floor type that I can move to anywhere in the shop..get the air moving and out the garage door and it puts the saw dust all over my truck when I forget to move it

Nothing better than a cool air on my backside on a HOT day ...3 or 4 mins. and I ready to go back to work

Did the same thing. 4x8 top 3/4 particle board then another 1/2 mdf on top of that. All 2x4legs ect. 2.g frame for top base. Came ou nice. Think I'll coat the MDF with WATCO. Read that someplace before. It's the way pops used to make em. I also trimmed the top edges with poplar and made it where I can replace the 1/2 mdf when it gets too ratty.

And got a nice big fan too

Sounds like your getting all fixed up Joe. I built my cabinets out of MDF and the drawers out of plywood with MDF fronts on them. I put poly on the tops, helps with the chipping but I wish I had used baltic birch or pine on the fronts. I trimmed them out in 1x3 of pine and set them 1/8 inch proud so I can drop in a 1/8 hardboard top that I can replace easy. My new bench will be the same way.
