Default It's a good day

Incra called and my LS Super System is on the way. If I'm lucky, I'll get it Friday.

Spent the day cleaning out the garage and my wife comes out and says WOW..Great job. You could turn this place into a woodshop for yourself! Wooohoooooo.. 2 1/2 car garage all to myself..Mostly. Have a freezer in there. Anyway..My mind is reeling with excitement to all the goodies I can stick in there. Table saw was moved from the basement renovation to the garage..Wow, that thing is heavy. Router table will be out there tomorrow as wel as a new outfeed table/workbench/storage.

Hmmmmmmm...dust collector in my future

Hi Joe

You have a dust collector system in the garage now if you have a freezer in the garage that's should be your 1st project build a frame to hold two furn.filters on the back side of the freezer, using some 1 x 3 pine make a frame that you can just side the filters into it from each side of the freezer, they are cheap and will do the job if not the freezer with become a white boat anchor
Use the same size you now use in the house then you can buy a box of them.

It's hard to keep all the dust out of them but the filters will help, some have a small fan right by the back side that runs all the time, and a hole(port) in the front under the door(s) but it should have a filter in place maybe) take a look at the back side and find the unit and use some double sided carpet tape to hold the frame in place NO screws.
You can get some of the 1 " to 2" wide weather striping, glue it to the frame and use the sticky side to the freezer, that will work also.

Just a tip from a guy you made a white boat ancor out of a nice freezer...

Joe,

A 2 1/2 car garage for a shop? Now that is a gloat if I ever heard one.... WOW, I can only dream of what I could do with that kind of space.

Yep.... DC needs to be at the top of the list for sure.

Good tip on the freezer. Will make it a priority. Good thing is 2 years ago I re-did the garage. New drywall..Insulated the walls before drywall. Installed several 220 outlets and a dedicated sub-panel for elec. Just re-wired the new TS for 220 per the Delta instructions. Runs like a champ. I'm already drooling over a new uni-saw or even the sawstop. That will wait. This one runs fine. It's in the blood..Dad was a finish carpenter and owned his own cabinet shop. Too bad it took me 44 years to realize I loved it!
Looking forward to posting some pics soon.

Congrats on the garage space for workshop Joe. If the Misses said you could turn it into a woodshop, she is definitely a KEEPER. Now you will have to make her something really nice.

I know she has a master plan. She's just waiting for me to finish off the basement project. The other day I found a book on her nightstand....Great Kitchen ideas. Yup, I'm in trouble but love every minute of it!
