Niki, is there any truth in the rumour that you have caused a shortage of sandpaper in Poland? I loved every picture, you're imagination never ceases to amaze me, but surely you must have exhausted all you're photo-shoots by now!
Previously I mentioned writing a book, but I think that a monthly magazine article might be better.Regards

Niki, I've just had another look at you're final comment and photograph and the latter does not prove that there is not a roll of sandpaper in there!

Thank you so much Harry

"Is there any truth in the rumour that you have caused a shortage of sandpaper in Poland?"
No, Germany is very close and they re-filled the stock within a day

"but surely you must have exhausted all you're photo-shoots by now!"
I still have a few surprises...

"does not prove that there is not a roll of sandpaper in there!"
Well, you shall have to take my word about it...

Thanks again mate

Niki,

WOW! You have again provided some very valuable tips that so easily solve every day problems in the shop. These are great and worth saving in my favorites.

I don't know how in the world you come up with these ideas, but I hope you never run out.

If you ever do write that book that Harry is cheering you on about, I want to be first in line for a copy.

Thanks ever so much for sharing all of this with us.

Thank you so much Bob

I'm glad that you find them helpful.

I think that the idea starts with something that I've seen somewhere and I just "develop" it.

For example, you know the Feather board that is used on the table saw.
I made it but, I felt too much drag while pushing the wood through.
So I thought; maybe, I'll make it just with one wooden strip attached to the rip fence rail... and I did so.
But then I thought; maybe I'll screw a roller or wheel to the end of the strip so I can increase the pressure without significant increase in drag...and I did...
But, because of my low skills, I drilled the holes (for the bolts that are attaching the roller to the strip) "not so straight" and the roller was angled up...the result was; when I pushed the wood, the wood lifted up off the table...no good...so lets tilt the roller down and then the wood will go down...I did it and it worked, I not only got "Feather roller" but also "push-down" action.

Later I changed the wooden strip with iron strip and added another roller so the wood is pressed in two points.

So that's how an idea is born, from a well known idea...

Oh, and as long as I can walk to the garage by myself....no book

Regards

Niki,

Thanks for another awesome show and tell. Most of your ideas are simple but you should change your name to Wizzard.
