| Registered User | When I'm sharpening a turning gouge or skew should the bevel be flat or concave? Does it make a difference? |

| Forum Moderator Supreme Forum King | If you are using a grinding wheel, and I assume you are, your bevel will have a "concave" grind and this is perfectly normal on turning tools. This concave is known as a "hollow grind" and will work just fine for your needs.
