Default "Lo-tech" table saw blade alignment

Good day

If you remember the caliper from the "Caliper modification", I'm using it also to check the table saw "blade - miter slot - rip fence" alignment.

Usually, when you check the blade alignment you check it across some 8" of the blade.
I extended the blade line by 3 and by doing so, multiplying the error by 3.

You can use any Straight Edge after checking that it is straight and the thickness is consistent all along (the straight edge on the pictures is, part of my rip-fence).

I would suggest to put some spacers (1/32") below the two boards and the straight edge before clamping them to the blade and remove them after clamping.
That way, when you adjust the table, the blade and the straight edge position will not be effected due to friction or whatever.

Regards
niki
