Default Need some bar ideas

So the basement is now painted. WOW, that was a job..Frame, insulate, Drywall mud..etc etc etc. Primed and now painted.

NOW, the fun starts. Time to build the cabinets and bar tops etc. I'm strugling with how to finish the front of the bar. Try to visualize...it's now just a half wall 41" high and....drum roll...11 ft long. I want to do something with the front. Part of me wants to make panels to look the same as the cabinet doors (when done) Remember, shaker /mission style. I will have a brushed nickel finish on the bar/foot rail.

I need some ideas. I seem to be drawing a blank!! I still have the cieling and floor to put in but I want to make those the last thing I do...Cost etc.

Also, being a newb, I need to figure how many board foot of lumber I need. I will need to build the following.

Cabinets for the bar ...Fronts only doors and face frame. say 12' long by 3' tall this gives me a little waste.

Cabinets for the bar sink area. 11' by 3' with waste.

Front of bar (if I go that route) 12'x3' with waste

Seems like lotsa wood. Wife decided she wants maple. Local place has it for around 2.50 a B/F 30.00 to give me s4s.

I'm all ears folks.

BTW Carcase will more than likely be 3/4" birtch ply or woodgrain melamine...YUK
