| Registered User Forum Geek | I am wondering if anyone has invested in an electronic digital caliper. If so, is there a brand that you recommend? Ease of use? My eye sight isn't what it used to be. I was hoping this would help. Thanks Steve Bolton |

| Registered User Forum Fanatic | for woodwork yes they are plenty good enough. You only start seeing a problem when you start using them for accurate machining work |

| Registered User Forum Geek | If theres a Harbor Freight store near you, they sell 4" and 6" for $16. Both switch from inch to metric. For $20 you get the one that also switches to fractions. They all include plastic padded cases and an extra battery.

| Forum Contributer Supreme Forum King | I doubt that brand means anything Steve as I'm sure they all come out of China. Over the years I've had several 6" ones and as tested on twist drills they all appeared to be accurate. I use them on wood and metal projects. Down under, the prices have been steadily dropping but even so $49.00 Ozzie dollars is the cheapest I've seen for a 6" one.
