I finally got the jointer into the shop this afternoon. I moved it by myself (!!!) from the car to the workshop via some ancient Egyptian technology and a hastily built caster base. I finally went and convinced my neighbor to help me lift it up the stairs to the workshop. Sheesh.

Now that it's in there, the jointer is AWESOME! I rummaged around and found some nasty old wood under the porch and jointed it to a beautiful finish. Now to get the planer... because what's a jointer without a planer?!? :-)

My wife keeps calling the Jointer a Planer. I told her that I'd get a planer so she wouldn't ever be wrong again about it. HA!

Good for you Duck! I am considering a planer as well. Post some pics of that jointer!

Over here a planer is known as a thicknesser and a jointer as a buzzer, and yes, the two do go together, put a banana into a planer and a thinner banana comes out, one side must be flattened on the jointer first.

A buzzer? LOL... never heard that before. No room for a buzzer here. You can use a planer sled to flatten one edge.

Hi Harry

You crack me up

Are your sure you don't have a malt shop in your shed

Malt shop= a place to get a banana split, a split banana into two parts with some ice cream on top of that and some whip cream and nuts on the top with a cherry or two..

Now that's a real buzzer
