Default New Jointer's Coming! Whee!

I found a great deal on a Delta 6" jointer on craigslist today. I've been wanting a jointer to get some nice, clean 90-degree surface/ends for a while now and I'm getting it tonight! Yahoo!

Oh nice BJ, now your publicly taunting me and my lack of a jointer Glad you found a good one there Duck! Enjoy it. I would like to have a decent jointer like that but right now I don't have the room and I have been the benchtop route.

Corey

Hi Bud

hahahahahahahahahahaha now all we need now is to have someone post they found a band saw or a planner cheap LOL LOL

Looks like it's time to add on to the shop bud
Tell your BOSS it's a garden center for her and her plants that's what I did.
But I did put her potts in and some other stuff in the add on when I got it done for a week or two but then that got moved to the other garage LOL LOL...

I told the BOSS that it would cost me about $500.oo to make the add on and it came out to be about 2000.00 at the end of it .... well I was off just a bit... I forget to add the price of the 2 x 4s and some floor plywood and some other stuff...like roofing... LOL

But she is a good sport and let me keep it

Now that is just plain CRUEL! No place to add on Bob.. unless I d straight back into the hill. No problem, I have a plan.... when my son moves out in a year or two, the one side of the basement will become my in house shop. The power tool cabinet and wood storage and a assembly bench will be inside. Then I will have room to set up the table saw in a better fashion and make room for a full size jointer, bandsaw and planer without any problem. One of these days Bob... it will come soon enough

Corey

Hey Duck, can't wait to see some photos of that new one.

I'm going to get the jointer in a few minutes and I'll post some pics today. I wanted to comment that my shop is about 10x10 and it's jam packed with stuff. I don't even use the tools inside the shop, I move them outside onto the porch because I don't have any kind of dust collection.

The workshop is mainly used for daguerreotypes and leatherwork so I like to keep it clean. It may be time to expand my own little space. Ha!

Corey, I found a good solution to my space problem. I use my son-in-laws equipment. He has a planner, Jointer, and scroll saw. The best part he lives only several houses away from me. Is that not a good deal?

Sometimes I just deliver the raw lumber to my son-in-law, and planes and joints it for me.

Corey, it sounded that your son was older, and moving out.
