Default About time part II

Well Boys, I finally took the plunge. Even I couldn’t talk myself out of buying the table saw this time. Although it took me over two hours of trying to do just that while waiting at the Home Depot.

I went in to buy the RIDGID TS2400LS portable saw but I decided that I wouldn’t be happy with the rip capacity and few other disadvantages such as (small cross cut sled capacity, fence upgrade options and few more things).

And since the TS3650 cost only slightly more I decided in the long run I would get most use out of it.
I realize it’s not the greatest contractor saw but for $ 375.00 I think it was money well spent. But, these things still scare the heck out of me.

Congrats Router. You don't have to be afraid of the saw, but do respect it. It's just like a motorcycle in that the moment you loose respect and get complacent, it will jump up and bite you. Just be sure to keep the saw tuned and aligned and use push sticks. Don't ever consider removing any of the safety equipment such as the guard and riving knife for general use. They are there for a purpose. There may be times you will want to remove the guard for non through cuts, but the riving knife should allways stay put to help prevent kick-back.
Another tip is to be sure the fence is parallel to the blade. If the outfeed end of the fence is toed in toward the blade it pinches the wood between the blade and fence and can cause a kick-back. Some, and I'm not one of them, will even have it toed out, on the outfeed end, by a few thousanths for just that reason.

I agree but I need help. it took 3 people to load it up and I don't want to push it out and let it land where it may.

Congrats Router

Just pull it out just a little bit,, and then pull the items out one by one and make a table saw with the parts...

You don't need the box just cut off the ends and the sides and get with it..
