Default Solo TS assembly

As if it wasn’t bad enough I had to unload this 300lb monster by myself three weeks ago, I finally got around to assembling it all by myself. It can be done but you have to work backward. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. I couldn’t get any help and didn’t want to wait any longer.
I still have to do the fine alignments and all, but I’ll leave that for the next weekend. I’m no hurry when it comes to using a TS.

Looks good Router! Congrats on the new saw. Seems to be a rash of them here!

Thanks Corey.

Yes I’ve noticed it. Few major saws around here. This is more than I will ever need being an anti TS person due to excessive fear of these things but I just couldn’t refuse it at 374 + tax so there it is.
It will get some use from time to time I hope. Frankly never found the need for one being a router freak that I am.

Once you get used to it, the saw will be your friend. Those cast iron tables are nice. They don't make marks on the wood like aluminum tables do.

Fun doing it all by yourself isn't it. I did mine alone except for help from my wife holding the wings up while I put the bolts in. She got the protective oil all over herself. If I was to do it again, I would put the fence rails on, then bolt the wings to those to help hold them up. Took me more than 5 hours to get it together.

Yep Mike, That's why I used the roller stand and leveled it to the main first and then drop the wings on that and lowered it until it was parallel enough to bolt it on.
It made the wings install ez. I spent 6 hours today. still have the motor and alignments to do.

Nice TS Router

Solo TS assembly is the best way I think...

Like you many times the parts are just to hvy.for one person to take on that's why I have a dead man host on the wall to help me hold the parts and to lift the big stuff

I also have a cherry picker to unload the big stuff it has steel wheels on it and can take on 2 ton...easy.. and move it to just about anywhere in the shop....

Solo,,it's a tool that you will have for a LONG time and you want to know all about it and the only way to do that is to put it together part by part....

Below you will see a snapshot of the dead man on the wall in the corner of the shop a real back saver...it's one tool I don't use all the time but when it's needed it will save me alot of pain ... just like the cherry picker ...

The cherry picker will pickup any tool or tool box I have in the shop and put in the back of the truck if I need to....loaded tool box and that's a real time saver...I use lifting straps with steel rings...to lift most of the tools..like to put on a mobile base on a tool that didn't come with one when I got the tool...

Bj,
The dog looks so comfortable you may have to use the hoist to get him up.

Yeah, they sure are something. We lost ours few months ago.
Miss him like crazy. Wife and I still get misty eyes when we think about that gentle beast.

True Router, BJ,

There's nothing much more painful than losing a pet....I've lost dogs and cats...and am now more a cat person than dog...but love both species.

It's always hard and you never forget any of them. I even remember our dogs from when I was 5 years old....that's 52 years ago....

Ed......:-)
