I recently built a really heavy duty 4'X6' outfeed assembly table. Heavy is the key word. Major over kill...anyway. I just bought a new truck and want to keep it in the garage so I am forced to consolidate my workshop. I am just curious what you guys use for an assembly table....outfeed table...etc.

Pics would be great. I'm trying to see how small of a table I can get away with.

Hi Deck

I use a door size drop down table for assemby, it's hanging from the work bench with 3 hinges and is supported by one 2 x 2 sq.pole that holds just about anything I put on the table...assembly table is always a PIA ,,and I'm a collector of junk boxes,jars,spray cans you name it gets stuck on the work bench BUT the drop down table stops me from doing that once it's down it's clean
and ready for the next assemby job...room in most shops is always hard to come by and the drop down table takes care of that need for me, like you from time to time I need to get the truck in the shop ..

I also have a plate that's inlayed for the pocket hole system to make it easy and quick to put things together,,, I just hate to work on the floor, my floor in the shop is not level but the drop down table is...

In the snapshots below you will see a green ironing board under the top it's no longer in place because it was not needed for support, the table top is the same height as my table saw,router table.RAS,etc. so I can use it for a out feed or infeed table also...

Hi Deck

To use a door as a drop down is the way to go. I built a four foot drop down on the far end of the 16' work bench. I glued two 3/4" plys and used a piano hinge. Every thing is great BUT, But my nice long bench with storage and all -- IS TO HIGH -- I did not think properly and some day I will have to take it apart and lower it to the same height as table saw etc. It pays to think ahead. Take care

Deck. I've done pretty much the same, used a door mounted on a wheeled trolley with lockable casters. The door is removable usually hangs on the wall until needed. I've made all my tools movable in the same way on trolleys with lockable wheels (band saw, router table, table saw) and all at the same height so's I can use the table as an outfeed for all of them and push the tools I'm not using into a corner as my shop is quite small.

I've cut it twice and it's still too short! But only at one end.
