Default Removing double stick tape

Maybe someone can give me some advice on how to remove double stick tape from wood, with out affecting the surface which will receive a finish later? I am a little hesitant about using a goo remover but I have no idea except to experiment which would take some time.
Thanks and
Take care
Doyle

Hi Doyle

This just my 2 cents

Most of the time when you use double stick tape it's on a part that still needs to be sanded after the mill work is done the sand paper will remove the tape glue the norm..

But I have use the tape on some parts that I want to redo/rework also and in that case I use Goo-Off works like a champ..

A big thanks BJ.....
Goo-off it is. I am routing some 3/8 wood - no room for clamps - using double stick tape to hold the wood. I have Goo-off but did not want to chance staining the wood. Thanks again.

A good heat gun and scraper works well too.

You'er Welcome Doyle

I got a new roll of double stick tape the other day that has nylon string in it and you talk about sticky glue on it...that stuff is nasty to get off,,,I now use about a 1" square for most jobs...
I use the Goo-Off all the time I just hate the little price stickeys they put on tools and hardware....but the Goo-Off takes them off easy and clean..

I use alot of plastic jars for storage of parts and Goo-Off takes the labels right off...neat stuff
