Default Reclaiming wood

Today forum member Oldnewbie (Neal) brought over a big stack of well used barn siding to salvage. It takes time but after smoothing one side with the jointer Neal used the thickness planer to bring the material to useable sizes. Nice cost savings and wood you can not buy.

Looks good Mike. It looks like you and Neal had a lot of wood.

Mike, I had to race out to my shed to make sure that you hadn't pinched my planer. At least it shows that we both have good taste.

We had a great time, and I can't thank Mike enough for the wisdom and training he gave me. He's a terrific mentor, and very patient. Looking forward to many more opportunities to get together to make sawdust. It would be fun if more of our members could join us for sawdust making sessions. AxlMyk, Brian, and anyone else in the greater Detroit area, "come on down". Just PM Mike, and he'll be sure to respond.
(hope you don't mind the plug, Mike)

The more members we can get to assemble the better the projects can be. Each member has their own skills to offer to the group and we can all learn from each other. Add some cool beverages and a bit of laughter and it just doesn't get any better than that.
