Re-mention of the GMC 1/2" plunge router, I mentioned this router in an earlier post, in addition to the points mentioned by Chappo, it has a SIX step depth anvil which makes plunge routing a breeze, in as much as in hardwood a cut of 4mm is about max. so after each pass the anvil is rotated to the next step, plunged, locked and the next cut made and so on. The only thing that I dislike about GMC power tools in general is their motors make a lot of noise. I have one of their biscuit jointers and it's makes so much noise that I phoned their tech. support and the guy there asked me to bring it to the phone and let him listen after which he did the same and declared mine as normal!!!! Hi Harry,

That sounds like a pretty good feature!

If I remember right, you have a lot of very hard woods down under... Do you have any softwoods at all?!

Nice to hear about tools in other countries... and their features...

Thank you...

I have a 3 1/4 freud, two 2 1/4 freuds, I have two bosch, one craftsman, one 2 1/4 triton and one mastercraft maximum. out of all I like the triton best then freud.
In my opinion craftsman is junk and bosch is right behind it......my two bits

Favourite brand is Elu.......I have a Swiss made MOF177 and a later Italian made MOF96e
Favourite for table mounting is my Triton TRA001
I use a Makita 3612c for freehand such as kitchen countertop masons joints etc.
