I'd judge this to be a cope saw with a blade that would let you cut in any direction you darn well please. Can't tell if the blade is "diamond" coated or if its a "rasp" type.

I think it used for sanding. It remind one of a coping saw which it isn't.

Stan, it looks like a fret saw used for marquetry. However I have never seen a blade with those type ends. It appears to be able to cut any direction.

This saw is not (typically) used on wood.

Stan, This saw blade is available in carbide grit or diamond impregnated and it is uesd to cut ceramic tile. I've used them many times and they work like a charm for making radius cuts.

Bought one of these when we were going to put ceramic tiles up for a backsplash around the new bathroom countertops. Only took trying to saw through one 2-1/2 square tile and I was back off to Home Depot to buy a cheap wet tile saw.
