Default "What is it?" #93

100 points for proper identification of this chunk of cast iron.

To qualify for the points, it's use must be described and why you would want one:

Bonus points:
50 points for information on other parts that must be purchased after installing one of these (after installing the entire kit).

50 points for identification of the manufacturer.

50 points for reasons why you might not want to use one of these.

Might be a gismo to increase the resaw depth on a band saw. Of course all present bandsaw blades will be put in the garage sale. Who dun it? don't know. Why buy one, should just obtain the "big" bandsaw to begin with... Wish I'd obtained a big bandsaw before investing in expensive (but good) blades, kool blocks, fence, etc. etc.

Snowshoe, You know you need new blades, but don't forget safety, you also need a new blade guard.

100 points for identifying the bandsaw riser block.
25 points for the mention that all present blades will be 'garbage sale fodder'.

50 points for making mention of the requirement to buy new 'longer' blades.

(The kit comes with the blade guard and other parts for the conversion).
