Yesterday on You Tube I watched a video titled "Band Saw Magic" and was amazed at skill that guy had. I know you can do 3D work on a scroll saw but haven't seen anything like that for bandsaws. Does anyone know of any books or plans that could be of any assistance? Thank you.

I don"t, but i seen the guy. It looked that He did it all by feel, and had no pattern. When
He finished, He had a nice looking animal, i believe, that was close to perfect.

Look through "Curious George's" gallery, he and a couple of other members posted photo shoots on making a Deer. Even I was able to follow the procedure!

The best advice that I can give a newcomer to routing is, learn to use the router mounted, this can be as simple as a board held in a vice, with the router firmly attached and a simple fence held with clamps, and when he/she feels competant and confident in it's use and is familiar with all aspects of safety, THEN, and only then proceed to learn how to use the router hand held. This is MY opinion, and may or may not coincide with that of the forum management, but is based on a lifetime of woodworking.

I've seen bandsaw guys at the wood shows making a Moose this spring. Anyone have similar pattern for a Moose as the Deer?

Hi Joe,

For an introduction as to what you are able to do with with the smaller bandsaws (14in or less) I would recommend the Fine Woodworking DVD " Mastering Your Bandsaw" by Mark Duginske.

It is amazing what you can do with q 1/8in bandsaw blade
