The other side of this box is identical to this side.
So what's wrong with it?

A hinge on every side!
Surely the lid can't open, if it's held on by four hinges?
Well, yes.
This one can.

That is cool, I would like to see a detail of the hinge.

I would suspect that the pins are missing from three of the hinges. You sure do come up with some amazing boxes Brucio.

The best advice that I can give a newcomer to routing is, learn to use the router mounted, this can be as simple as a board held in a vice, with the router firmly attached and a simple fence held with clamps, and when he/she feels competant and confident in it's use and is familiar with all aspects of safety, THEN, and only then proceed to learn how to use the router hand held. This is MY opinion, and may or may not coincide with that of the forum management, but is based on a lifetime of woodworking.

Hello Harry,
The lid will open from every side, not just one side.
Watch the video-you'll see it in action.

I've just viewed the video and am even more puzzled, perhaps I should have left my nightly whiskey 'till after I viewed it!

Hi Brucio,

Truly amazing. I think I may need 1 or 2 of these for work.

I suspect that there are no through hinge pins and that there are spring loaded balls, similar to ball catches, in the hinges, between the leaves. Notice the firm grip as the box is opened. The hinges function normally but the balls will retract on the ones not needed in the other planes. I think the apparent fiddling with the squares on the sides is a red herring.

BTW, I didn't watch the video all the way through as it was taking time rebuffering.

Cheers

Peter
