I watched a video on here about scroll saws. The gentleman used a glue that he sprayed on the pattern, let it get tacky then put it on the wood to cut the pattern out. What kind of spray glue or brand of spray glue was he using? I like the way it just peeled off the wood. Also what type of blades does a guy need? I got some 2/0 to #5. I don't want to have to buy a bunch of unnecessary blades. There are so many skip tooth, reverse tooth, etc. Most of the wood she will cut will be 1/2" or less and mostly 1/4" with some inside cuts. I picked up one blade that is a spiral. She really likes that one as she doesn't have to turn the wood and it cuts pretty good.

I just got the new Delta Shopmaster and I think the model is SM600. It is not fancy and is variable speed. He didn't have the box for it so he gave it to me for $79. Runs smooth and cuts nice. The wife is happy with it as she will be the one using it most of the time. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Bernie

I use artist spay glue, it will tack up but it will come off clean when you remove the picture,works great (Art supply store or hobby store)

See the link below for Mikes blades, it got a pack for 12.oo bucks , 5 diff. types and one of them will cut 3/4" walnut just like butter and it will turn on a pin head , now it's the only place I will get my blades from.

Thanks Bj. I appreciate the info and will look into it. The wife likes the scroll saw and I do to to a point but I am a turner at heart but willing to learn anything. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

Yes thank you, I'm full to the eye balls so I was in the shop working some of it off but I think it's nap time now but if I take a nap now I will be up until 3 or 4 so I guess I will pass on the nap and just try and keep my eye open a bit longer maybe watch a foot ball game....... Broncos & KC.....

If the pattern doesn't all come off, a little squirt from a spray bottle full of paint thinner. Or a little soak with a dampened paper towel

You can also use Goo-Gone it will lift Any label,sticker,picture,black marker marks,etc. great stuff and it will not stane wood,tool handles,or metal tools or tool boxes.

I just hate it when you get new items and they put the bar codes or price labels and it's been on for a long time and it's sometimes real hard to get them off but Goo-be-Gone will take them off without any marks on the tool or other items and all you need is to wipe off the glue and label works great on tool box lables and stickers on bumpers also, I also use plastic jars for storage for small parts but the jar labels can be hard to get off but not with Goo-Be-Gone ,like I said it's great stuff .

BernieW, I use POST IT glue stick to glue my patterns. The patterns peeloff really easily like a post-it note. I buy at staples and some Walmarts may carry it to. It is a lot less messy than spray glue. Just make sure your wood does not have any dust on it.

i use double-sided carpet tape & it works quite well. i also use full reverse#3 blades
13teeth per inch or the skip tooth blades. #3 these have worked well with 1/4" woods.
