| Registered User Member | This is my latest work. More of a mechanical gadget than a puzzle, but one that you definitely can't open without the solution! And funnily enough, you make your own solution... If you're interested, see my gallery page... ![]() Bruce

| Forum Contributer Supreme Forum King | The whole project is clever Bruce, but, how did you divide and engrave the knob?

| Registered User Member | Thanks for your replies, lads. The dial was created in DrawPlus. Made a 2-1/2" diameter 24 point star, connected the tips across a circle, Made a 2-1/4" circle to blot out most of the lines, copied the rest of the lines, pasted, rotated. Done. 48 divisions. Make the divisions white, everything else black, print it out, a quick spray with fixative and glue, slap it on the dial. The actual knob itself was just left smooth. That was the easy part... Bruce

| Registered User Forum Fanatic | Cube, maybe the most simple one. Not so accurate, but works. I enjoyed. Thank you, Bruce san. (I will sand it later) |

| Registered User Forum Fanatic | Difficulty I found a really big mistake. If I fix it, other part go bad (how do I say ?). Also I understood again that sanding has two sides. 1)Making surface smooth. 2)Making joint(?) LOOSE. This is the same as "Teaching a sutra to Buddha" to you all members... Accurate and careful... good way, but difficult. Dave san > Now are you ready for a more challenging one? Well... no and yes. I will try to make a same one. More accurate one. |
