| Marine Engineer Forum King | If you've never been to a Grizzly one day tent sale, go just for the experience. It's always amazing how many people show up to scavange through the different tents of machinery and accessories trying to find the 'killer deal'. GET THERE EARLY--- I thought I'd be one of the first ones there, yet the line already snaked halfway across the parking lot when I got there. There are a lot of good deals, but remember, some machinery is lightly damaged (dented stands, broken extension wings) some is nearly destroyed and just for parts, etc. There are always a bunch of specials for the day, and since you're there, no shipping costs. The showroom is amazing, and they encourage you to get your hands all over the equipment. If you're not too far away, try to make at least one visit. The experience alone is worth the cost of the gas.

| Registered User Forum King | Thanks Doug, I've always wanted to go, but never found the time. The Muncy PA. is about 3 hours away from where I live. The other problem I have is I have a mid size sedan. I would not be able to bring home anything large. Maybe I can get my son-in-law to go with me, he has a station wagon. Thanks for the info, very helpful. Rolf |

| Marine Engineer Forum King | Muncy is where I went as well, I'm about 250 miles from there. When I went in 2003 I took all the seats out of the wife's minivan, was able to fit a 14 inch bandsaw, dust collector and drill press in for the trip back south. Made for a long day, though.

| Registered User Forum King | I looking for a 14" Band Saw, and I'm thinking of spending the night before in a motel. Based on your comment I want to get there as early as possible. Did you get some good deals on the items you got? Rolf I'm about 170 miles north. |

| Marine Engineer Forum King | I think so, the Bandsaw was $365 I think, it listed at $375 at the time and I didn't have to ship it. The drill press was a steal, I didn't plan on getting one, but they had a whole bunch of them on sale, an impulse buy I guess. The dust collector I don't know if there was a real discount on it or not. My primary goal was to check out the bandsaw first hand before I bought it, and do a little recon on the 1023 series table saws. The money I saved in shipping on the bandsaw was worth the trip. In the tent sale part, I got a couple of drill/countersink sets, misc. router bits/accessories, all at clearance prices. If I could have committed to a couple of the scratch and dent items (I wasted too much time thinking about them....) I could have had a huge deal on a jointer. Folks there were on a mission, it was fun to watch. If you're going to get a hotel, make sure you hotwire or priceline it, save some extra bucks.

| Registered User Forum Geek | I went a couple of years ago to the Bellingham store. There were lots of great buys. Unfortunately, the machines like bandsaws, etc are gobbled up by those first in line. At 0800, they sprint to all of the machines and place tags indicating possession. I was able to get some safety items at dirt cheap prices. Expect 1500 to 2000 peple in line. -Derek |

| Registered User Forum King | Thanks, it sounds like you have toget there two hours before. Does that sound about right? |

| Registered User Forum Geek | That's a good question. If your sights are not set on a machine (remember, these are scratch and dent, missing parts, etc. not normally what is in the catalog) then mingling with the crowd is OK. I would equate this to a department store the day after Thanksgiving where buyers line up at the door. -Derek |
