Lee I haven't seen Ron on the forum for a while but I did a quick search and on another forum someone suggested that the part is fairly universal. I also have an Elephant in 18" and I'm sure it was built as a number of other brands just like many other woodworking machines made in Taiwan. I'm not sure what Taiwanese brands are available down under but take your part and get dimensions and start trying them and see if someone elses is the same thing. I also believe that that part would be fairly easy to get machined.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.
