Graham, those are terrific. I think the shortest speech made by Winston Churchill was one he made to agraduating class. He repeated the words "Never Give Up," three times, each with a difference in phrasing and tone, revealing the deep meaning of the admonition, particularly coming from that British bulldog who kept England inspired in the darkest days of WWII.
I am always drawn to the subject when "freehand" and "signs" are used in the same sentence !!

I can barely sign my name freehand much less something artsy.
