Router bits for B&D 7620 router?

I retired last year and am finally getting around to making some sawdust. I'd like to try to use the B&D 7620 router I bought at a garage sale 10 years ago. I found a copy of the manual here. Thank you Router Forums very much! This router came with no bits. I have a Craftsman router bit kit I bought about 10 years ago also. I just measured and those bits have a 1/4" shank. From the manual, I see that my B&D 7620 router has a 1/4" collet.

Can I use these Craftsman router bits in this B&D router?

If it isn't obvious I have NEVER used a router before.

Any help, guidance, links to good information is greatly appreciated!

Welcome aboard.

1/4 inch is 1/4 inch, so have at it.
BUT! When you insert the shank into the collet, bottom out the shank, the raise it slightly before you cinch the collet. That way, the collet won't jam the shank and make it hard to remove.

Search You Tube for "Router 101". There are several videos that should give you a jump start.
