Xmas order summary

For what it's worth, I kept track of my December orders and amount spent for items.

#1 by far and away and moderately priced leading by a 5 to 1 margin over anything else is the 16 x 12" Polish Eagle with the family name. Old English was the leading font. They all looked like this. I still see them in my sleep.

Number 2 was the smaller 11 x 9 cheaper sign 1/2 the above cost and the 24" round Polish Eagle twice the cost of #1. I had a bunch of the Pop's Shop done so they went right out. The round Polish Eagles had to be cut as ordered.

At one point my machine ran 24 hrs a day for 6 straight days. Slept on the couch and kept checking things. Everything managed to get done. It did cut into some hunting time, though.

Sure didn't get rich, but it was interesting!

Rick,

I've found that you have to cut the text deep enough and clean enough to paint and then sand the excess off. I usually cut the text 2,3, and sometimes 4 times -- going a little deeper each time til it looks right. Doesn't take much time at all to carve just 2d text. It's that 3d carving that's time consuming.

They look great John. During the school year I've brought home a few 3D projects to cut on my Meteor when they would take more time than a class lasts. This time of year my personal CNCs get to rest as the students are out until mid January. I've only done a few joinery samples to show them when school resumes. I've posted photos of a couple on Probotix' forum in the CNC joinery thread.

Always nice to see your work. I'll bet your customers were very satisfied.

Haven't had any complaints ........ yet 4D.

Got a few personal notes, as mostly women bought these for their husbands or parents. They could care less about their last name or the history. Plus, I include a 4 page history of the Polish Eagle with each one. Goes back a long way and has a special meaning to those with ties to the old country.
