Default Cut off Oak Piece

A couple years ago I made a sign for my buddy's nitrus box on the GMC pickup he was restoring.

He rolled it out of the garage not too long ago so it was only fitting to make him something to hang on wall someplace. Had to rob an idea or two from DiFalkner and Prof Ollie. There was a 16 x 11 piece of oak just begging to be made into something special. Finished it measures about 15 x 8. The acrylic oval is sized so it cuts out a 4 x 6 pic pretty good. Gotta tweak the pocket a little, but I can see something like this for pets, most any pics, special occasions, etc. Possibilities are many with the ability to custom carve most any text.

Great idea, John. Did you freehand draw the profile, or use a clipart pattern?

I just resized a sign frame from a Design and Make project -- Dad's Garage #1. I've used their frames and plaques more times for things other than what they made them for.

That's a nice plaque for what appears to be a very nice truck. I'm partial to the 3100 series body. I owned my first one at 15 and owned 2 more over the years. Great work John!

Nice sign, John. Nice truck too. He should be proud of both.
