Default Small text

What's a reasonably small text that can be done? I've tried 1/4 inch text, 1/4inch 60 and 90 degree and 1/2 in 90.looks perfect on first pass, then goes back over and ruins it. I kinda like the straight cut look from the first pass.

Go to a 30 or 60 degree bit but don't use the ones with the big ends. Stick with the shaft size. I use a 60 degree more than anything and don't cut deeper than .12 inches.

Also remember, the smaller the text the bigger chance for tear out. Time for a laser too!!!

I took the tests and retirement is the best job I'm suited for.

Now I know why old guys wear suspenders.

How are you trying to cut the text? Pictures?

Make sure your table is level & flat.

Make sure you are using an engraving 60 or 30

As said above, make sure the lettering isnt going too deep. Keep it around .1
Gaffboat likes this.

I'm here to learn about CNC routing & anything else I can pick up.

God bless
