Hmmm - the association between cutting board and amputation, even Civil War, not sure about that.

It was about the anti bacterial properties of honey, which may also apply to the beeswax. The fact that it was used in field amputations during the Civil War is proof of it's effectiveness.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.
