Default Side rail hinges

i was making several of the Zigzag Boxes featured in the November issue of Wood magazine. It requires a set of brass side rail hinges, available at Rockler for $45 a pair. Woodcraft had them for $19 a pair but they are out of stock until late February. Walmart and the Japanese Woodworker also had them at $19 and they are also out of stock. I don't want to pay $45 especially when I need 3 pairs and I really don't want to wait until the end of feb to get them from another source. Does anyone have a good source for items like this?

Thanks Bruce. It is interesting that the hinges are from Rockler and the Rockler web site still has them priced at $44.99.

I have found this before and have caused me to order from Amazon instead of Rockler. The shipping time is about the same as Rockler.

If he purchased them from Rockler directly they would have been $134.97 for three pair.

Either way they are expensive but I can't find a cheaper source of supply. I guess I "boxed" myself in a corner.

Are you stuck on those specific hinges? You could get a different hinge for a lot less. Here's a link to Rockler:

Those Rockler brass box quadrant hinges are really nifty looking, practical, and at $5 and $6 a pair depending on size, a handsome bargain.

Thank you so much for the link. I always wondered why the hinges were so expensive. Now I know where to buy them from.
