I am looking for a collet extension for 1/2" bits. I need to know the max outside diameter of the collet. I want to use it with a dish carving bit, with a bearing. Not in the shop now, but I think the bit/bearing is 3/4"
Anyone care to measure the diameter, and post what diameter and brand it is?
Thanks
The one I have is 30mm OD ( 1.181 " ) but you can use the one for 1/4" shank bits 22mm OD ( .866 " )
And using the brass guide ( 1" ID or it's best to use the 1 1/2" ID guide) that way you don't need the bearing on the bit the template will support the guide..

I noticed their 1/4" shank bit has a top bearing. Is it the norm that top-bearing'd bits are held in place with an allen screw, such that the bearing can easily be removed when not needed?
