Hello all. I have a craftsman router that has a white ring around middle with different numbers. Need to know what ring is used for. It turns freely. Thanks. Bob
Hello and welcome,Bobbb I believe that you are talking about the measurement ring. You would set it to registry the depth the depth of cut. First, you would zero it out,(with the router bit just touching the surface, the ring would measure 0 on the scale. If you are using a standard route r and your going to route a 1/4 in. dado, You would out the path, and set the depth by lowering the bit, until the ring registered 1/4 in. My help is poor today, but i hope you can understand my very poor instructions
