I am having a problem getting my jointer knives set correctly and need to edge surface some walnut. Has anyone used a pattern bit/bearing and a known straight edge to clean up lumber for glue up. I have ripped the lumber on my table saw and I am attempting final clean-up prior to glue up.
I will get my jointer dialed in after this project, but the project is time sensitive.
Any help/ideas would be greatly apprreciated

Hi, Jasun:
It's possible to edge joint lumber on a router table. You can mount a bit in the router
so that it will remove the full thickness of theboard you will joint. You will have to make the out put side of the fence the same thickness as what is being removed by the bit.
Lets assume the cut will be 1/16th " that means the out put side must come forward
towards the operator, 1/16th" . I hope this helps you out. Woodnut65

With the split fence design (each side of the bit independently adjustable), take a look at using an old playing card as a shim to evenly offset the fence. A playing card thickness makes a good cutting depth.

apparently my router fence (rockler) is a 2 pcs so making the adjustment should not be an issue. I will give the playing card a look. That is about I am looking to remove. I am only interested in cleaning up my edges IE: saw marks for a near perfect glue up.
Thanks again!!
