Default On-going saga of Triton

The story of Triton going out of business is well documented and has been discussed here several times.

Two shops in the neighboring town have started selling Triton routers recently with an associated promotional campaign.

The manager of one of the shop flatly denied any awareness of the Triton recent business issues. Both shops maintain that warranty will be honored by Triton through their shops although neither had any actual experience of doing this.

What is the current status of the Triton products?

Just bought a new triton router for one of my tables in Oct 09 at the orange county woodworking show in Costa Mesa, Calif. USA. Bought it from Sommerfeld tools. It is a new 3-1/4 hp with a built in riser like their 2-1/4 router so you can
raze it from on top of the table. They don't seem to be going out of business here in US.

Spares seem to be available in the UK.

Interesting to hear that the big one is now getting the raising feature. Wonder if the spares are available for retro fitting?

Cheers

I looked at that router also when I was there but had the other half with me and didn't want to spend too much.....

I bought the 3-1/4 to replace the 2-1/4 in one of my router tables. Bought the 2-1/4 originally because it had the built in raiser & the 3-1/4 didn't. Was told the new 3-1/4 will fit the bolt pattern of the 2-1/4 in there now. I just have to drill a new access hole for the crank in the table top. Just use the base plate as a template.
