Default Self-Releasing Collet

I noticed there is a separate "self-releasing collet and locking nut assembly" available for the 3-1/2 HP Milwaukee router I recently purchased.

Given this type of product is most likely available for a variety of brands, who has experience with such a collet? Is it worth the extra $30 or should I just save my money?

Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Darren, welcome to the forum.
I may be wrong but I thought most newer routers came with a self-releasing collet.
It you haven't got one, my opinion is that they are worth it.

The problem with experience is I usually get it immediately after I need it.
