Default side rail hinges w. lid stay

hello all,

I was wondering if anyone has had experience iinstalling hinges w. lid stay for a humidor. the mortises are both the width and depth of hinge arms. I installed them flush to the box and I was getting some lift off at the rear of the mortises. Are they intended to be installed weith the actual hinge mechanism offset as such?

For some reason the attachment button isn't working for me so i can't post pic. but what i'm asking is if they're supposed to be installed so the actual hinge is protruding from the surface of the box. oh, i'd say about a 1/4 inch.

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly. It depends upon the type of hinge, etc. Try posting a picture again.

yep,
that's them in the above pic. The direction say to cut the mortises at two inches which would leave one to believe they are intended to be installed flush to the rear of the box. The lid does not open like this. I had to leave about an eight of an inch hanging off the back for the lid to be able to open.

yeah, on a closer examination of the pic it looks like they're slightly off the back of the box.. cool... thanks for your replies.
