Default New router on the way

Amazon has a good deal on a Bosch 1617EVSPK. I got a refurb unit for $170 free shipping. Has the fixed and plunge base. Should be here next week.

Hi Jake, should go well with that table saw

John Schaben

The problem with experience is I usually get it immediately after I need it.

I have had this same router since 2005. I have been VERY happy with it! I have used this to build raised panelled doors quite successfully. I am actually thinking about buying another one.

I picked one up off the clearance shelf at my local Menards for $100 a couple of months ago. It was missing a few parts, most of which I picked up at the hardware store for a few bucks. The rest I ordered online for a grand total investment of $150.00.
I probably would have gone for the $170 one had it been available.
Sound's like you got a good deal.

Refurb looks like a good way to go for me. I check the cpotools sites often to wish and dream.

Congrats on the find

Router came today. That was really quick..2 days. Haven't had a chance to set it up, just plugged it in to make sure it runs . I've bought refurb tools before and most you couldn't even tell they were ever even handled outside the factory. This unit had some hand print smudges on it and the base plate on both the fixed and plunge looked as though they've been run across a work piece, but I saw no signs of dust. This looks to be a really nice router, constructed very well. The base plate looks like it will match up fairly well to my shop built RT plate. I'll fire it up in the morning.

Congrats on the new router. I've bought a few things refurbished and many times the factory warranties the refurb with the exact same warranty as a new one so you get a great thingamajig at a cheaper price.

Hi Jake - You got that through Amazon but it likely came from CPO. They're based in Atlanta and I have always got good products and service from them.
I got a recon bandsaw from them awhile back and the cast iron base got broken in shipping. Since the part wasn't spared, they sent me another saw!!! Told me to keep the other one for parts. I got the broken one welded for a 12 pack and the replacement is still in the box.
