Default tightening issue

I just bought a guide bushing set for my router. Here is the problem after I have centered everything on the base and adjust the depth of the bit when I tighten the the lock on the back so that the motor doesn't move, it throws my bit off center. Is there any way to compensate or keep this from happening?

Lock it in place 1st. then adjust the plate after .. don't put the bit in just use your line up tool at that point.
